8 People Who Went Into WWE Hall Of Fame For The Wrong Reasons

6. Edge Is Rushly Inducted Because His Career Is Cut Short

Not for a second is Edge's place in the Hall of Fame being disputed. His accomplishments and general contribution to the business of professional wrestling is quite literally second to non. However, the timing of his induction is something that was deemed a little weird on WWE's part at the time. Edge was forced to retire from wrestling due to a severe neck injury immediately following WrestleMania XXVII where he defeated Alberto Del Rio and retained his World Heavyweight Championship. Less than a year later he was in the hall. What was the rush? It is commonplace to see a superstar to retire from in-ring duties and have to wait a few years at least before receiving his induction. Who knows, had WWE waited a few more years still they could have had even more mainstream exposure as Edge is making serious waves as an actor now. Why he went in so early is up for debate... Something we'll likely never get to the bottom of.
