8 Predictions For NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II

5. Tag Teams Will Steal The Show

Current NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival have defied the odds to become one of the best tag teams in the world. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder never accomplished much on their own, and it’s taken years of hard work for them to get to this level, but they’ve been a revelation at the top of the division.

Their “fists, not flips” mantra rings true. Dash and Dawson are two old-fashioned Southern-style brawlers who eschew flashiness and theatrics for psychology and classic tag wrestling strategies. Their cohesion is off the charts, and watching them isolate and dismantle glossier tag teams has become one of NXT’s greatest pleasures.

The Revival’s matches are uniformly excellent, particularly their big stage showdowns with the likes of American Alpha and Enzo Amore & Big Cass. They’ll be going all-out to steal the show on Saturday night, and Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa are perfect opponents for them. Gargano & Ciampa have slowly risen in prominence since debuting last year. The two indy vets have become one of NXT’s most likeable units: mesh Ciampa’s intensity and Gargano’s heart with The Revivals no frills, smash mouth style and Brooklyn has a potential classic on the docket.

A Gargano/Ciampa victory feels more than apt here, and would be a perfect way to cap their recent ascension storyline. Either way, don’t be surprised if this one steals the show.
