The Authors of Pain have certainly made an impact since debuting at TakeOver: The End. Gzim Selmani and Sunny Dhinsa appeared with legendary former Legion of Doom manager Paul Ellering to attack American Alpha shortly after their tag bout with The Revival. Weeks later, The Authors had successfully driven Alpha out of NXT with another ferocious beatdown, and while their in-ring action has been mostly limited to squashes, big things are on the their horizon.

WWE clearly have plans for Slemani and Dhinsa. They got a great rub from demolishing American Alpha, who are one of the most beloved acts in NXT history, and they’re always presented as a huge threat whenever they appear. Not only that, but The Authors move incredibly well for two 300lb+ monsters, and though they both need a little polish, they’ll go far with Ellering at their side.

It’s time for The Authors of Pain to step things up a notch. They can’t squash jobbers forever, and they’re going to have to start making serious waves sooner rather than later, unless WWE want another Ascension on their hands. Just as they did at TakeOver: The End, The Authors of Pain are going to make a huge mark at Brooklyn II. Look for them to eviscerate whoever walks-out with the Tag Team Championships, thus setting-up NXT’s next big tag team angle.
