8 Problems WWE Solved In The Superstar Shake-Up
2. Bray Wyatt's Holding Pattern
Formerly one of WWE’s most uniquely interesting personalities, Bray Wyatt has become a caricature. Years of lost feuds have damaged his in-ring credibility, and his once innovative character has descended to a babbling, cartoonish madman. WWE have made Wyatt a self-parody, and while his WWE Championship win should have heated him back up, he soon reverted to the hokey supernatural antics that turned him into a Scooby Doo villain in the first place.
He needs a fresh start, miles away from Randy Orton, Luke Harper, and even Erick Rowan. He’ll never succeed with so many ties to his past dragging him down, and while he’ll likely run into Braun Strowman on Raw, Braun evolved beyond the Wyatt Family a long time ago. The platform is set for Bray’s resurgence. The only thing holding him back is creativity.
There’s a chance he’ll get lost in the shuffle on Raw, but removing him and his nonsense from SmackDown’s main event scene solves a problem in itself. We just need to endure two more weeks of Orton vs. Wyatt, and WWE can finally think about doing something compelling with Bray again.
Whether they actually do this is another matter, but the chances just increased exponentially.
