8 Problems WWE Solved With The 2018 Superstar Shake-Up

2. The Dolph Dilemma

How do you solve a problem like Dolph Ziggler?

Once considered one of WWE's most misused performers, 'The Show-Off' has long since had everything that used to be exciting about him stripped away through poor creative direction. Now, his support is but a slither, and he endured an awful time on SmackDown, with the bookers trying all manner of reinventions to get him over.

None of it worked. Each new "fresh start" turned into a bust within the first few weeks, and while there's every chance his latest reinvention could meet the same fate, aligning with Drew McIntyre on a new show at least gives Ziggler something new to sink his teeth into.

Dolph can still go, and Drew is a polished performer who was ready for the main roster from the moment he returned to the company. The Diesel/Shawn Michael comparisons are tedious, but we haven't seen Dolph paired with another wrestler in a while, so the partnership should offer something different to what we've seen from Ziggler over the past couple of years.

An optimistic forecast, and perhaps overly so, but it'd be great to see him thrive again.
