8 Problems WWE Solved With The 2018 Superstar Shake-Up
3. SmackDown's Stale Main Event Scene
Up until a month or two ago, SmackDown's main event scene was comfortably its least compelling. AJ Styles hasn't had the WWE Title reign his cathartic victory over Jinder Mahal promised, with the tiresome Sami & Kevin vs. The World feud holding 'The Phenomenal One' up, and the company making a late start on his program with Shinsuke Nakamura. Things improved prior to WrestleMania 34, but now, the division looks fantastic, and this is largely down to the Shake-Up.
Key players remain, with Styles, Nakamura, and Daniel Bryan all staying on SmackDown. Newcomers The Miz, Samoa Joe, and Andrade Almas can be thrown into the WWE Title hunt at any time, too, and it looks like Big Cass is on course for a shot. The seven-footer's ascension isn't all that exciting at the moment, but who knows? Maybe changing brands is the tonic he needs to revitalise his career.
The old main event scene was crammed with talent, but the booking made it a chore. There's a chance this new group will meet the same fate, but for now, the title picture looks absolutely stacked.
