7. Splitting The Dudley Boyz

If you watched the draft, then you witnessed Flair choose the New World Order collective (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and X-Pac) as a tandem entry. McMahon did the same for Tag Team Champions Billy and Chuck later, culling them to Smackdown as a duo. This seemed to be against the preordained rules, but whatever.

Then Flair singularly chose Bubba Ray Dudley. McMahon followed by selecting D-Von, thus splitting the long-running duo. It was one thing to test out each man's singles potential, but it was an odd time to do it. Fans quickly soured on the idea of a popular duo being halved, less than an hour after two other factions were herded onto shows in one piece.

Within eight months, the Dudleyz were put back together, owing to a dearth of legit teams on Raw.
