3. Randy Orton vs Batista vs Daniel Bryan - Wrestlemania XXX
WWE.comFor me, this match enters this list by default being the most recent Wrestlemania main event. Hand selected by WWE as the one match to be the highlight of their calender year, it is a must-see in any cross-section of the product and, in this case, fortunately, it's a worthy watch. Going back to the earlier points about the importance of crowd heat, this match showcases the YES! Movement in full-force and exposes just how addictive a hot live crowd can be to the viewers at home. The FIFA World Cup has been tearing things up over the last couple of weeks and one of the things that has made it such a success thus far is how exuberant and 'into' the matches the crowd have been. Just watching the fun the crowd has been having makes you want to be there with them and it was the same for Wrestlemania XXX. When done correctly, the crowd can become a character in this story in of themselves- something the British crowd, for example, has taken to proving in recent years. In fact, this year alone, the crowd(s) changed everything in the entire WWE title picture just by their reactions alone. With regards to the YES! Movement, Triple H did have it right when he said the fans want to be a part of something... what he didn't say was that such participation is one of the unique selling points of professional wrestling. They need that as much as we do.
