8 Reasons Bret Hart Deserved To Be Screwed At Survivor Series 1997

1. The Launch Of The Mr. McMahon Character

What better way to truly launch the Mr. McMahon character than to have him screw over one of the most beloved pro wrestlers in WWE history? We've heard stories of who came up with the idea of "The Montreal Screwjob." Vince Russo has stated that he came up with the idea during a creative meeting and Triple H has claimed to have either come up with the idea or whole heartedly agree that if "Bret wouldn't do business, that they needed to do business for him." This scenario was ALL that Vince was thinking about at the time. How could he not? Vince had his pulse on the entire industry...an industry that he was able to grow to unimaginable heights. The biggest reason of all to screw Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1997 was to officially debut one of the greatest heels of all time: Mr. McMahon.
