8 Reasons Roman Reigns Should Become WWE Champion At Survivor Series

7. ...And The Chance To Fail

If Roman Reigns crashes and burns as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, so be it. He can continue to flourish as an upper midcard competitor like so many others before him, while the WWE will have to accept that they don't have the next Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on their hands. Of course, there's no way to know that until he's given the chance to do so; if fans mercilessly boo him and ratings drop even lower than they currently are, then taking the belt off Roman and putting more work into him will be the next logical step. However, just like he should have the opportunity to prove that he is a bond fide main eventer who wasn't out of place taking on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, crashing and burning wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, especially if it clear up what direction the WWE should be taking Reigns in. After all, despite his popularity significantly increasing since WrestleMania, many of the same mistakes the company made with him in late 2014 have persisted, including more of those terrible promos clearly written by a 70-year-old man out-of-touch with how people actually speak nowadays!
