The Survivor Series kickoff show started at 5 p.m. ET. About five hours later the night ended. Millions of people waited in anticipation to see Goldberg vs. Lesnar; a showdown that was 14 years in the making. They got a couple of Spears and a Jackhammer. Show’s over, now get the hell out!

The vast majority of fans watched this card on TV. But imagine Goldberg vs. Lesnar is what made you shell out a lot of money to see the show live in person. You maybe drove a few hours to get there, waited in line to get into the arena, sat through hours of wrestling and extended ring introductions to see this super fight we thought we'd never see again. All that excitement and adrenaline starts to build up when the bell rings, and then, before you can even get into the match, it ends. That may not have been the best ride back home.

For fans of Goldberg and Lesnar who watched from their living rooms, we still saw hours of TV angles and video packages devoted to the main event. We sat through all the talking heads going on and on about fantasy warfare becoming reality. In the end, the match ended faster than it would have even in a videogame.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
