8 Reasons Why Kevin Owens Is A Terrible Heel

5. We Respect Him Too Much

This isn’t any fault of Owens at all, in fact, it’s very much a credit to him for making it as far in the business as he has, but we just respect the man too much to hate him!

Owens has done what few others have done, in that he has overcome Vince McMahon's weird body building fetish to reach the top. We know the type of wrestler Vince looks for, you know, the crazy, muscle bound dude who looks like a real-life action figure. Owens looks like a guy you’d see working in your office. It’s not a knock on him, as most of us look like we work in an office!

Five years ago, it seemed there was no way Owens would ever make it into WWE. We were frustrated, because we could see his talent, but his fairly bland appearance would never earn him a look from the major leagues.

So we saw him year after year, struggling to make a living, and slowly picking up new fans along the way. We listened to his great promos, we watched him in incredible matches, and we knew if only Vince would give him a shot he’d succeed. By the time he showed up in NXT, the vast majority of the crowd couldn’t find it in themselves to hate him, as they’d watched his crazy journey unfold.

As much as WWE has wanted us to boo Kevin Owens, we're still just too happy for the guy.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
