8 Reasons Why Kevin Owens Is A Terrible Heel
4. He Has Very Little In-Ring Credibility
As good as Kevin Owens is in the ring and on the mic, and as much as he deserves to be a top star in WWE, the way the company has gone about it has basically killed any chance of him succeeding as a top-level heel for the time being.
Besides his first big match with John Cena, Owens hasn’t really been positioned as much of a threat. After he came out on the losing end of that feud, he became a victim of WWE’s even-steven booking, and then he was suddenly pushed to the top without much momentum behind him. He may win now and then in clean fashion, but he’s basically another version of Vince McMahon’s overdone chickens**t heel.
He had a 2-on-1 loss to Seth Rollins a couple weeks ago, and when he beat him at Hell in a Cell, he basically needed a second person to get the job done. Some heels can get away with playing a cowardly role, but it doesn’t suit Owens well. The company should have positioned him as more credible in the ring before awarding him the title, but due to their short-term booking problems that was probably too much to ask for.
