8 Reasons Why TNA's Closure Would Be A Good Thing

2. There'd Be Room For Other Televised Wrestling Promotions

Whether it's Asistencia Asesoría y Administración or Global Force Wrestling, or a different promotion, the permanent decline of TNA would leave a hole in the market for televised wrestling, such a position would undoubtedly be better utilized by someone else, which of course means better and more wrestling content for fans. TNA's existence showed that televised wrestling does draw decent ratings no matter how questionable the quality is, as TNA programming was consistently the #2 show in the ratings on Spike TV, for the last few years. Given those figures, it's logical that other networks would want to cash in on the prospect of having the #2 wrestling show in the U.S, possibly with numerous wrestling promotions appearing on TV in hopes of claiming that position. At the same time, It's unlikely that another established network will want to pick up TNA, purely because Spike's decision to axe their number #2 show implies that ratings have nothing to do with the decision. If we're to believe the wrestling dirt sheets and other sources, it's due to managerial problems and Vince Russo's hidden role on the show which TNA were dishonest about. Regardless of the condition of modern wrestling, it's still a draw on TV and that's likely to remain the case for the near future. No matter who it is or when, different networks and wrestling companies will try to occupy the spot as the #2 wrestling show, if TNA falls. We can all agree that's generally a good thing and that the change is needed.
