8 Reasons Why WWE's Tag Team Divisions Are Failing

7. Gallows & Anderson Are A Joke

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows made a strong start to life in WWE. They debuted with a vicious assault on The Usos last year, and were soon inserted into AJ Styles’ high-profile feuds with Roman Reigns and John Cena. Sure, they were henchmen, but they were in the spotlight and stayed true to the characters that brought them success in Japan.

Things started going awry as soon as they set their sights on the championships. The duo transformed into a horrendous toilet humour act who became obsessed with The New Days’ respective nether regions, and spent weeks carrying Big E’s testicle around in a jar. They “starred” in one of the worst segments in WWE history with their “Old Day” skit, and they didn’t fare much better in the ring either. Gallows & Anderson were slaughtered handily in every title match, and they became one of the weakest teams in the company.

They’ve made a marginal recovery since then, and even became Raw Tag Team Champions by defeating Sheamus & Cesaro a few weeks ago. Still, it’s hard to shake the feeling that Gallows & Anderson are unworthy champions - particularly after getting their wigs split by Roman Reigns on Raw this week.

They should technically be the strongest team in the company, but they’re being served up as fodder for “The Guy,” which not only devalues Gallows & Anderson, but the belts around their waists.
