8 Recent WWE Repackagings That Were Doomed From Day One
7. Doudrop
Piper Niven was an excellent addition to the NXT UK women’s roster. With an indie background in brutalising her opponents, she gave the division an extra air of legitimacy as Viper and her years of experience and unique look meant that she was prime for that accelerated call to the main roster.
Fans watched with dismay as Viper was drafted to Raw in 2021 and dropped under the wing of the consistently hated and mind-numbingly talentless Eva Marie. It was almost distasteful to team up such a solid wrestler with the company’s prized model if not the fact it was just painfully on brand at this point.
Changing Viper’s name to Doudrop didn’t help but it at least felt part of the act. Doudrop was Marie’s protégé and she was being pushed around and mocked from the very beginning.
Gladly, the turn came quickly and Doudrop dropped her “mentor” like a stone. Worryingly however, for whatever reason, she decided that she perhaps liked the name and decided to keep it rather than the clearly much cooler, and much more established, Viper.
Considering that in her first year Doudrop has done very little outside of winning the 24/7 Championship a couple of times, fans’ worries that she was dead on arrival have rung true.
