8 Ruthless Decisions WWE Need To Make Right Now

2. Repackage Roman Reigns

They've done it, WWE have won. The relentless, machine-like grind to turn fans off the idea of a Roman Reigns heel turn has pretty much worked. Industry critics have similarly started to give up on the idea, but that doesn't mean Roman's act doesn't need a bit of tinkering.

A full four years on from The Shield's dissolution, it's exasperating to see Reigns continue to present himself as the same SWAT-style heavy who cried "Ooooo-waaaaa" and helped Powerbomb helpless enemies with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Roman even has the same entrance theme his old faction did.

If Vince McMahon isn't happy to bite the bullet and try Reigns as a heel, he should at least consider switching up Roman's presentation so he no longer comes across as a guy who can't let his old gimmick go. For his part, Roman must also push for progression; he's surely aware how stale his aesthetic is in 2018.

Reigns could look to the chameleon-like updates of lifers like The Undertaker or Chris Jericho for inspiration. It's a sad state of affairs that both Ambrose and Rollins have shifted styles, and yet Roman is still plodding along as a quasi "Hound Of Justice".
