8 Signs That Vince McMahon Could Be Retiring From WWE Soon

2. Loosening The Reins Of Power

Vince McMahon Retirement
WWE

For the longest time, we've heard stories of how everything in WWE is done under the ultimate order of Vince McMahon. While Vince may not have came up with every storyline, every creative decision, or every call on who's next in line to get a major push, it is McMahon who has had the say on what's been seen on WWE television for the longest time.

Well, until now, that is.

Over the past year or two, we've heard stories that Vince has done the unthinkable: he's finally loosened the reins of power within the WWE.

Sure, Vince is still Vince - meaning he is the only voice that matters should he have a differing opinion on something - but the fact that McMahon is now allowing ever-increasing amounts of responsibility to be passed to the likes of Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and even Paul Heyman in a way never before seen, that's something that would at one time have been unimaginable.

Going hand in hand with Vince delegating more and more decisions to certain WWE higher-ups, is the once implausible idea that VKM is no longer the ever-present that he has for so long been. Previously, McMahon was famously at every single WWE taping and even some house shows. Even before he became distracted with the relaunched XFL, Vince had started to not be quite as religious in attending every WWE TV offering.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
