8 Stars WWE And TNA Made A Mistake In Not Pushing

8. Shelton Benjamin

Ah, everyone's favorite "What could have been" story. And really, what could have? Quite a bit. There was no mistaking that Shelton Benjamin could get it done in the ring, that was proven time and time again, especially against top talent. From Triple H to the Undertaker to Shawn Michaels to Chris Jericho, every time Shelton Benjamin got a big stage with a big dance partner, he displayed a sense of athleticism and wrestling prowess rarely seen from a guy his size. It seemed he had it all-- size, speed, strength, wrestling ability, and that aforementioned athleticism. However, he lacked the one thing that WWE in the 2000's coveted- microphone skills. If Shelton Benjamin were around today, not only would he be more successful than he was during his original run, he'd likely have a manager to speak for him, something that the WWE was too stubborn to utilize the last time around. In the mid 2000's, managers were falling out of favor with the WWE, which has drastically changed over the last several years. Shelton Benjamin could have played a role ala Anderson Silva in the UFC-- he's so good technically that nobody can beat him, despite of how big, mean or talented they seem. The worst part? He knows that nobody could beat him. With a manager hyping Shelton Benjamin, he could have been something special.
