8 Stars WWE And TNA Made A Mistake In Not Pushing

7. Monty Brown

Both TNA and the WWE missed out on pushing the former NFL linebacker, who only spent seven years in wrestling. In TNA's crucial developmental stages, Monty Brown was a shining star amongst many hit of miss talents. While the original product felt grimey and southern, Brown was heads and shoulders above everyone else as it pertained to charisma. Brown was a high definition character on a standard definition show. Brown had a way's to go in the ring, but could more than hold his own when placed with the likes of ring generals such as Jeff Jarrett or Christian. In 2005 and 2006 when Brown truly exploded, both WWE and TNA were looking for breakout stars that would be able to carry their banner into the mainstream and gain casual viewers. Brown could have been that guy. It looked like TNA was going to pull the trigger on Brown, as he was placed in an NWA World Title match in early 2006. Not only was he not given a title run, but his contract was allowed to lapse, and TNA had abandoned one of their homegrown stars. Brown took his talent, as well as his "Alpha Male" person to the WWE's ECW brand, where he competed as Marcus Cor Von for several months, before asking for his release to handle family issues. Brown is now 44, and unlikely to ever make a return to wrestling. Things could have been much different for himself, as well as the landscape of TNA had they actually capitalized on him.
