8 Storylines For NXT Superstars Debuting In WWE

What will the NXT generation do when they hit the main WWE?

It's a strange time to be a fan of wrestling on the internet. Usually one of our main gripes is that the WWE are neglecting the best independent talent from around the globe, instead focusing on pushing the same few guys at the top of the card over and over again. Sure, CM Punk was signed an indie darling, but he was very much an exception - the only wrestler of his type to make it to the top in a very long time. Then, however, we saw the glorious ascension of Daniel Bryan, and suddenly indie wrestlers were in vogue. This trend has continued, with an immense amount of independent talent currently amassed in the NXT developmental promotion. A key factor in such a change has been the growing backstage influence of Triple H (and the gradually waning power of Vince McMahon). Although Vince still very much has the final say, the Game's focus on actual wrestling is certainly shining through over McMahon's constant prioritising of "entertainment". The future looks bright, but the success of these talented newcomers is no guarantee. The WWE creative process is notoriously hit-and-miss, and many promising stars have been ruined by stupid gimmicks, listless storylines, or being forced to surrender their individuality. With this in mind, we thought it would be useful to come up with ways for a few of the brightest NXT stars to make their initial mark on the main roster.
