8 Struggling WWE Stars Who Would Excel In NJPW

2. Cesaro

Hundreds of thousands of words have been written on Cesaro’s apparent misuse in WWE. The Swiss Superman might be the best technical wrestler in the company today, but he’s unlikely to ever reach the heights his in-ring talents warrant.

Even today, when he’s regularly putting on some of the company’s best matches, Cesaro is hamstrung by a corny ring entrance and the company’s reluctance to give him any promo time. Sure, he’s clumsy on the microphone, but he’s never going to improve if he isn’t given a chance, and his post-Draft shoot-style rant proves Cesaro can deliver the goods when not hampered by a contrived script.

There have been rumblings that Cesaro’s WWE contract is set to expire, and he’s not interested in renewing. There’s a strong chance he’ll had back to the American indy circuit should this happen, but the prospect of Cesaro in NJPW is beyond exciting.

In Japan, Cesaro would be allowed to reach the top on the back of his unparalleled wrestling ability alone. There are very few wrestlers who can match him inside the squared circle, and NJPW is already packed with some of the world’s best technicians and brawlers. Imagine an epic 30-minute affair between Cesaro and IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, or a series of breathless G1 Climax bouts with Hiroshi Tanahashi, Katsuyori Shibata, and Tetsuya Naito.

It’d be disappointing to see Cesaro not reach his full potential in WWE, but his NJPW signing would have fans salivating
