8 Struggling WWE Stars Who Would Excel In NJPW

1. Daniel Bryan

This is comfortably the most difficult situation that Daniel Bryan has found himself in throughout his career. If his concussion history is scary, reports of him suffering seizures away from the ring are downright terrifying. There’s a strong chance he’ll never wrestle again, but it’s clear that the itch is still there. Bryan has said himself that he hopes to eventually wrestle again, but it’s not gonna happen in WWE, nor will it be any time soon.

Bryan sought advice from a series of medical professionals prior to his retirement earlier this year. If he’s to be believed, every single one of them cleared him to return apart from the one that matters the most: WWE’s medical team.

We’ll leave the debate on whether or not he should actually wrestle again to the professionals, but there’s a strong chance he’s just waiting-out his WWE contract at this point. Bryan’s been great as SmackDown’s general manager, but it’s clear that his heart remains inside the ring, and it’d goes without saying that he’d be an immense success in NJPW.

His skillset is perfect. Daniel Bryan is one of the best technicians of his generation, he can strike with the best of him, and while he’s not going to be pulling off wild corkscrew flips at this stage in his career, he’s always been an elite athlete. There’s not a performer in the world that he can’t have a good match with, and he’d mesh perfectly with NJPW’s elite-level talent.

Removing all the hearsay surrounding his current situation, a wrestler of Daniel Bryan’s calibre deserves to work with complete freedom at a high level. There’s only one place he’s going to get that, and it isn’t WWE.
