8 Super Heavyweight Wrestlers Who Could Do Flippy S***

3. Mike Awesome

ECW was known for its array of high-flying wrestlers, but only one of them weighed nearly 300lbs.

Having honed his skills in Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW), Mike Awesome arrived in the 'Land Of Extreme' in 1999 with a bang. After seeing Mike's unbelievable combination of reckless aggression and controlled violence, Paul Heyman had no choice but to make him World Champion. That decision would come back to bite him, but that's a story for another time.

Awesome was an absolute dream opponent for any wrestler. If he went up against smaller performers like Spike Dudley, he could chuck them around like a lion toying with its prey. If he went up against a foe of equal size, he could run rings around them. He would regularly launch himself over the ropes or into the crowd like he was indestructible, giving Rey Mysterio a run for his money in terms of aerial prowess

A performer that was light years ahead of his time, Awesome's style prefigured so much of what was to come in wrestling over the next 20 years. Alas, as he passed away in 2007, he wasn't around to see the lingering impact he'd have.
