Make no mistake about it, John Cena is the biggest name in professional wrestling today. Ever since defeating John 'Bradshaw' Layfield for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21, Cena has been at the very top of the game, deserving of his Face That Runs The Place nickname.

Of course, for those 11 years he's also been plagued by crowds continually chanting 'You Can't Wrestle' at the man, and an entire section of the fanbase has abandoned any idea of the leader of the Cenation's calibre between the ropes. They simply aren't interested in entertaining the idea of John Cena doing anything other than sucking.

The truth is, when John Cena's career is done and a career retrospective compilation is put together, it is going to be one heck of a collection. Every year that passes is full of great Cena matches, and the man has had remarkable chemistry with a whole host of individuals.

When a number of those individuals make a list of their best matches in World Wrestling Entertainment, the top of that list will feature '...vs. John Cena'. Cena has been on top for a long time now, and a whole load of wrestlers have come and gone in that time.

Here are eight whose best WWE match came against ol' Fruity Pebbles.

8. John 'Bradshaw' Layfield - Judgment Day 2005

John 'Bradshaw' Layfield wasn't renowned for his great matches, but for two straight years at WWE Judgment Day he was involved in thrilling encounters that weren't short on blood and violence. The first of these was against the late great Eddie Guerrero, and 12 months later the man spilling buckets of red against the Wrestling God was John Cena.

The two had faced off at WrestleMania 21 earlier in the year in a match that saw Cena win his first world title, but was one of the most underwhelming title changes in WrestleMania history. Much like Daniel Bryan and Sheamus after WrestleMania XXVIII, the duo more than made up for their disappointing first match with an absolute barnstormer in the rematch.

It was an 'I Quit' match, and over a decade later it still stands as one of the best of the form in history. It was also JBL's best WWE match.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
