Rob Van Dam may have had matches that were technically better than this one, maybe even matches that were more exciting, but no other bout during his various tenures in World Wrestling Entertainment really touch this in terms of the total package. Cena is no stranger to hostile crowds, and they really didn't come much more hostile than this.

To Cena's credit, he was perfect on this evening. Walking through that crowd head down and belt held high is arguably the most credible he has ever looked. The crowd claimed that if Cena won they would riot and this was the only time in wrestling history that this has seemed like a very real possibility.

Both men get all of their stuff in, and whilst the interference from Edge somewhat cheapens the finish, it was an incredible main event that for me was the pinnacle of RVD's WWE career.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
