8 Talented Young Wrestlers Who Were Screwed By WCW's Demise
7. Johnny "The Bull" Stamboli
There really was a lack of young talent in WCW when they died, but Johnny "The Bull" Stamboli was a guy that had so much potential as soon as he started in WCW in late 1999. He debuted on WCW TV when he was just 22 years old and when WWE bought WCW in 2001 he was 24. He wasn't as big as some of other young WCW guys, but he had the look of a wrestler since he was a muscular guy at 250 pounds. His gimmick in WCW was a guy that is the Mafia. Later on he was part of the Natural Born Thrillers with several other "new" WCW performers. Johnny was signed by WWE in 2001 although he didn't appear on television right away. They sent him to developmental for about a year and he really didn't establish himself on the main roster until early 2003 when WWE did a reboot of the Full Blooded Italians stable on Smackdown. The group appeared on TV for a while, but they never got a substantial push. He ended up getting released in late 2004. Due to the fact that he really didn't do anything that special, he failed to make an impact in WWE. The best thing for him would have been if WCW was able to continue in 2001 because he was young enough and skilled enough to become a success. Once he went to WWE he was just another guy.
