6. Bret Refused To Lose In Canada

While it's true that Hart thought of himself as a Canadian hero (not that he isn't), the idea that he refused to lose in Canada whatsoever is false.

The month before the pay-per-view, Michaels told Hart in front of a locker room filled with wrestlers that he had no intentions of laying down for him. Hart saw this as a sign of disrespect and refused to lose to Shawn, and Shawn alone.

Hart was determined not to let Michaels beat him at Survivor Series; instead, he wanted Michaels to atone for his out-of-line comments.

Hart had offered to lose the belt the next night on Raw in Ottawa to whomever, even Michaels himself, provided that Michaels humbled himself by letting Hart escape Survivor Series as champion. He would have put anyone over at Survivor Series for the belt if asked - just not Michaels, for those reasons.
