8 Things Fans Want To See At WWE Payback 2016

4. The US Championship To Mean Something

This one could be a case of too little, too late, especially with confirmation that Kalisto's defence against Ryback will take place on the pre-show.

We're all pretty much desperate for the US Championship to mean something again. It wasn't too long ago that the title was held by figures such as Seth Rollins and John Cena; now it's easily the least important belt on the main roster.

Such little care has been given to the title since it was put on Kalisto (and to Kalisto himself), but that doesn't mean it can't become important again. The best hope we can have is that Ryback and the champ put on a stellar pre-show match, earning the winner a meaningful feud with a worker much higher placed on the card.

John Cena could be a viable option. He returns at the end of the month, and few would complain if WWE re-hashed his "open challenge" angle with the title, as it delivered such great matches and gained newer talent some much-needed exposure.
