8 Things International Wrestling Fans Are Tired Of

1. USA Chants

Because of course it is. We've all heard it, we've all grown sick of it. Anything remotely related to the United States of America, or better yet, anyone who specifically is not from America, and the chants get going. Whether this be an outburst of the chant in response to Rusev's "stupid Americans", or Jack Swagger's "We The People", the sound is a familiar element of WWE programming. In fact if the crowd doesn't respond with the chants, it's almost disappointing in a way.

I can only assume that the point of the chant is a combination of pride in their country, which I understand, but also to highlight difference between Americans and the 'other'. In a word, it is alienating. Seriously, what other crowd responds to anything with repetitively shouting their country's name or initials? It would sound ridiculous for fans in the United Kingdom to begin chanting UK! UK! UK! as William Regal made his way to the ring (although I definitely wouldn't object... step it up, UK).

But for whatever reason, American crowds cannot hold back their proud patriotism. And I guess whilst WWE continues to be an American-based and focused organisation, we shall have to endure the mindless chanting.

It's true, no other country does patriotism quite like America.
