8 Things You Need To Know About CM Punk's UFC Contract
2. Guys Are Calling Him Out Already
Phil Baroni didn't even wait until the news was official. Then again, Baroni probably didn't even know Punk was actually going to the UFC, and further, Baroni hasn't set foot in a UFC octagon in ages - he was last seen in Bellator. The green Power Ranger has called Punk out, however - as has Michael Bisping. And a TUF winner. Lets start with the power ranger. Jason David Frank appeared on the show back in the day, and a few years ago started dabbling in the MMA realm. He actually took a few amateur fights, winning all three, then won his first and only pro MMA fight before acting commitments got in the way of his fighting career. He hasn't fought since - but called out Punk when the news of the signing hit. If that seems random, well, there's back story - at a Wizard World convention a few years ago, where both men appeared, a fan asked Punk about fighting Frank. Punk answered "sure, why not" in regards to the challenge. Given Frank is over forty and has never fought in the UFC, the match-up is doubtful. As is Michael Bisping, who offered to welcome Punk to the UFC - it's a case of too much, too soon. Another name who made an offer: Elias Theodorou, winner of TUF Nations: Canada vs. Australia, but even he would be a bad match-up for Punk.
