7. More Career Longevity Than UFC

Punk's signing with UFC raised plenty of eyebrows in both the MMA and pro-wrestling worlds. After all, in his late thirties Punk's shelf-life in the Octagon wlll be rather limited, even if he gets off to a blistering start by winning his first fight.

Last year Brock Lesnar came very close to re-signing with the UFC, but instead opted to take up a new deal with WWE, which in the long run would take less of a toll on his body and also meant he'd be able to keep making money for a longer period of time.

In a nutshell, it means more money for Punk in the long-term and also potentially better long-term health (ironic given his previous comments about WWE's medical staff, but lets hypothetically assume he has his own personal doctor, or WWE's medical team have cleaned up their act in that regard).

A return to WWE even on a part-time schedule would still be easier on his body than the rigours of a UFC training regimen and the eventual fights. While pro-wrestling isn't exactly ballet (with apologies to Jim Ross for stealing his line), because of it's pre-determined nature there's more career mileage available, with many performers carrying on in one capacity or another well into their 40's and sometimes beyond.
