8 Things To Look Forward To When Wrestling Goes Back To Normal

1. WrestleMania!

WrestleMania was the first WWE PPV to feel the full effect of the pandemic, and the timing couldn't be any worse.

Surrounding events such as WrestleMania Axxess and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony were cancelled, and there were rumors circulating of WrestleMania itself being either postponed or cancelled completely from the get-go. Of course, this is Vince McMahon and WWE we're talking about, and the show still went ahead, all be it with no audience, broadcasted from the WWE performance centre as opposed to its planned home, the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Florida, a venue with the capacity to hold up to 75,000 fans.

WWE did their best, incorporating new ideas such as cinematic matches between Bray Wyatt and John Cena and AJ Styles and The Undertaker, and broadcasting the show across two nights as opposed to the usual one night. None the less WrestleMania just didn't feel special this year. The atmosphere wasn't there, the smaller setting wasn't appropriate for the glory and the grandeur that the grandest stage of them all demands.

It remains to be seen how next years WrestleMania will play out and there's no calling what might happen, when WrestleMania does go back to how it once was however it will be extremely special.
