6. The Becky Heel Turn Was Incredibly Dumb

WWE London's main event of the evening (or "maaaaaaaaaain e-VENT ofthaeeeeeeeveniiiing" as Greg Hamiltion so eloquently put it) was Bianca Belair vs SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch. Regular viewers of the product will be aware that the champ is currently strutting around on TV as the division's top heel, meaning the near nuclear pop her arrival was greeted with tonight was slightly... confusing.

Turns out that being a hero to millions of young fans for successive years can't simply be undone with an underwhelming and nonsensically written turn, and despite her best efforts to reject the warm reception she was given fans still love her anyway. Granted, yes, this isn't your hardcore WWE TV audience, it's mostly families, children, and people who just fancy "a night at the wrestling", but as we've mentioned they're often as good a barometer as any.

Under the circumstances, it would have made sense to simply play to the reactions they were getting, but WWE's bookers are, as the saying goes, 'gonna book' and the two played through a well-rehearsed face/heel title match dynamic. Becky's inevitable victory, even coming after a few dastardly tricks, was still greeting with a huge ovation.

Nobody wants to boo this woman.
