2. How Does He Feel About People Claiming He Carries Opponents?
Sam talks about the amazing matches that Styles has had with John Cena and Roman Reigns and says he's disappointed and surprised when he sees so much feedback online from fans saying that AJ carried those guys to make the matches reach the levels they did, and wants to know his response to such statements.
Styles says that couldn't be further from the truth and that he doesn't carry anyone, he just trues to o his part. He says he knew going into the matches with Reigns how great he could be and AJ trusted him in the spots they had planned. His matches with Roman left him thinking:
"Holy cow, he's a lot better than anybody ever thinks he is. Roman Reigns is great. John Cena is great. John Cena's willing to do anything and everything to make sure the match comes out as good as it possibly can be. It always comes down to two people. I've heard it said and it's flattering 'if they put me in there with a broomstick I could have a great match', but it's not true. It wouldn't be entertaining whatsoever. Although I would give it my best shot."
Sam asks him to state on the record that a broomstick/Styles match would be terrible and AJ stops short of the confirmation, replying "I think so, although I'm going to try my best to make it entertaining. I could surprise myself, I don't know."
