8 Things We Learned From AJ Styles On The Sam Roberts Show
1. Facing Shane McMahon At WrestleMania 33
Sam talks about WrestleMania 33 and all the speculation online and wants to discuss AJ's match for the card. He says:
"It's a complete hypothetical but I'm just going to throw this out there based on storyline direction and some of the things that have been said on Talking Smack and things like that. Let's say for some reason you're not in the title match, and let's say you end up in a match with Shane McMahon. Is that something that you would look forward to?"
AJ gives the politically correct answer that he just looks forward to WrestleMania in general, calling it something he never thought he have the opportunity to participate in. He says he used to try to convince himself that it wouldn't be a big deal to never be a part of one but it was a lie, calling it the biggest thing in the business.
To be a part of WrestleMania, especially with all the talent the WWE has is still a big deal. He talks about how many championships the company has and says there's no way they're going to be able to defend them all on the show, so to even be a part of the card is huge for him.
That's a great answer, but at no point in that response did he even mention Shane McMahon's name, which can't help but cause one to wonder how he truly feels about being booked in a match with the boss's non-wrestler son.
