8 Things We Learned From Austin Aries On The Ross Report

1. It Wasn't A Difficult Decision To Leave TNA

The conversation is bookended by talk about Aries' former employers, TNA Wrestling. Ross asks about Aries' time there, how difficult it was and how difficult a decision it was to leave. Rather than throw anyone under the bus Aries is very diplomatic about the whole thing. He states that his contract was up and he wanted to explore all of his options.

This makes sense for a man like Aries. He had truly accomplished all there was to win in TNA, winning every major championship and feuding with everyone there was to feud with. Aries was also aware of the difficult situation TNA was going through, and as such he felt that the time was right for him to leave.

Aries left on good terms however, and if ever the chance came up to return he would certainly do so if it suited both parties. Still, Aries knew his standing. He is a 16 year pro with plenty still to offer and plenty to learn, as well as plenty to teach the less experienced pro wrestlers beginning to ply their trade.

NXT is the perfect place for Austin Aries.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
