7. The Jeff Jarrett Situation

Jeff Jarrett's indefinite suspension was the first domino to fall last week, and the first thing Nordholm was asked about on Wrestling Observer Radio. He was reticent to go into the specific reasoning behind Jarrett's departure (and dodged the subject of Jeff's apparent intoxication at AAA's Triplemania PPV like a pro), but did reveal Anthem's contingency plan.

Ed stated that the positive side of Jarrett's suspension was that he helped bring a number of "good young guys" to the creative team, citing Scott D'Amore (43) and Sonjay Dutt (35) as specific examples. They'll be expected to pick up the slack while the Chief Creative Officer is away, but Anthem are "hopeful that he won't be gone for long," and aren't planning for life without him.

Nordholm also added that the audience can likely expect a few changes while Jarrett is absent. He believes D'Amore and Dutt are "more tuned into today's style of wrestling," which he describes as "more action-based, possibly with less talking." This sounds interesting, but it'll be over a month before fans notice a difference, as Impact has already been taped all the way through to early October.
