Confirming himself as a positive, thoughtful man, Jacobs refused to bury the crappy gimmicks he played before becoming Kane. The aforementioned Isaac Yankem D.D.S and 'fake' Diesel characters were never going to work long term, but Jacobs told JR they played a part in shaping his WWE career.

The evil dentist guise got him a regular paying gig with the biggest wrestling promotion on the planet, and the Diesel idea allowed him to feed off an established character's popularity. Then, when he was handed Kane, Jacobs was more determined than ever to make it work.

Jacobs did note that he didn't enjoy playing Yankem (which was noticeable during his performances), but he did get to wrestle Bret Hart on pay-per-view at SummerSlam 1995. Credit to Kane for looking on the bright side, because his first two WWE gimmicks were some of the worst in company history.
