8 Things We Learned From Tony Khan On The Steve Austin Show

3. Plans For The Women's Division

Although it continues to grow with each passing month, AEW's women's division remains fairly slender at present in comparison with the men's business, boasting just a dozen full-time pros on its roster (and one full-time doctor).

It's fair to say that of all the matches at Double or Nothing, the fatal-four way between Britt Baker, Kylie Rae, Nyla Rose and late-intruder Awesome Kong was the least developed on the card, almost feeling token in its throwaway nature. Speaking with Austin, Khan indirectly implied that there is an internal focus on expanding the division, as he let slip that the company plans to promote Women's Tag Team Championships - presumably, not taking inspiration from WWE's currently moribund version of the straps, woefully wrapped around the waists of The IIconics.

AEW can't sustain a healthy women's tag division with just twelve wrestlers, so presumably, there'll be a heavy recruitment drive in the department before October rolls around.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
