8 Things We Learned From Tony Khan On The Steve Austin Show

2. "Full-Time Benefits"

As Khan was discussing the proposed schedule for AEW's talent, he made a very interesting comment indeed. The President re-affirmed that wrestlers won't be expected to spend any more than five days on the road, both to assuage the possibility of audience burnout and allow them to have a life beyond wrestling.

He said performers would be allowed to pursue interests outside the ring, noting that the whole point of the upcoming Fyter Fest was to indulge Kenny Omega's passion for gaming. Most notably, he said that AEW's employees can expect all the usual "full-time benefits".

What do those entail? Holidays are a given - but what about a pension plan? And just perhaps, an insurance programme? Such a move would suddenly give AEW a huge edge over their rivals in Stamford, who've weathered similar calls for years.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
