8 Things We Learned From Triple H On Stephanie McMahon's WWE Show
3. Steph Was Stressed About The Water Spit
Ronda Rousey ultimately didn't really groove with pro wrestling or pro wrestling fans the way WWE would've wanted her to, but nobody can take that debut match away from the ex-UFC star. Ronda teamed with Kurt Angle to beat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a fun effort at WrestleMania 34 in 2018, and it remains a highlight of 'Mania history to this day.
Stephanie admits she wasn't as worried about the actual match as she was about something else.
WWE writers told her that she'd be riding a bike to the ring alongside her husband. Then, on top of that, McMahon would also be copying his water spit gimmick. There was just one problem: Both she and Hunter had giggled endlessly about the fact she just couldn't do it for years. Now, she had to perform the spit on the biggest stage WWE provides. No pressure, eh?
Triple H had a bit of fun at Steph's expense by refusing to tell her how to do it properly or let her in on the secret until the very last second. Joking, he refuted that on ESPN by saying: “I did tell you how to do it, you just weren’t paying attention”. Thankfully, it went off without a hitch, but the clips of rehearsals will make many laugh.
Stephanie's water gimmick paled in comparison to Triple H's. They got through it though, and that's really all that matters. The mixed tag was also a rip-roaring success from bell to bell, which would've helped even if Steph had dribbled.
