8 Things We Learned From WWE Creation And Destruction: Triple H's Road To WrestleMania

After fifteen hours of interminable fannying about - and that was just DX's show-closing, crowd-squirting celebration - the 2019 Hall of Fame was mercilessly brought to its end. Despite being next January, the night was not yet over for our tireless hero, who hopped in a massive armoured jeep and whizzed across town - heck, across state - to East Rutherford's MetLife Stadium.

Why did Triple H need to be at WrestleMania's venue in the small hours rather than getting some much deserved and much needed shut-eye on the eve of the company's biggest show? Simply put, The Game had been ran off his feet whisked hither and thither for pretty much all of WWE's most important engagements (plus a random visit with record producer Rick Rubin that simply could not wait a week) that he hadn't even had time to consider his match.

It's not entirely clear how being in an empty arena at the dead of night helps the creative process, and seems more a pre-game ritual than anything. Despite entering his 23rd WrestleMania, Triple H admits he's still nervous about the occasion, noting, "it's the be all and end all of what we do." If you don't feel some tingles of anxiety, he muses, something's not quite right.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
