8 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Adam Cole
1. A Ready-Made Superstar
From inexperienced bodybuilders and models to grizzled independent veterans, WWE recruit new stars from a number of different backgrounds, with each requiring varying levels of refinement before hitting TV screens. Most are made to train at the Performance Center for at least a couple of months prior to getting started in NXT, and while Cole will likely receive the same treatment, he’s the most WWE-ready performer that the company have approached in years.
Cole’s wrestling style is safe, clean, and precise, and he focuses on classic ring psychology and a simple (but effective) offensive style rather than dangerous dives and flips. He’s far from dull, but Adam’s risk-averse still will likely endear him to the company, who ultimately seek to mould all new recruits into a similar image.
While Cole is certainly no slouch between the ropes, the other aspects of his performance are where he really shines. Few independent wrestlers work a microphone like him, and he knows exactly what it takes to draw a reaction from the crowd. He has “sports entertainer” written all over him, and while WWE will likely find a few nuts and bolts to tighten, they could conceivably throw Cole on the main roster tomorrow and he wouldn’t look out of place.
