Growing up as a young Texan kid in the late-'80s, it would have been easy for Keith Lee to hear all about the exploits of The Von Erich family in WCCW. He probably did come to look up to Kerry and the gang, but it wasn't any specific wrestler who inspired Lee's love of pro wrestling.

It was his grandmother.

In one interview with The British Wrestling Revival blog, Lee said he was introduced to the industry aged just four or five years old. His granny was the one responsible, and it was she who'd sit down with Keith to watch as much wrestling as possible. Given the time period (1988-1989), there's a better chance he watched more WWF programming than WCCW.

When Lee eventually started training to become a wrestler, he didn't necessarily hone in on anyone from the past for inspiration. Instead, he thought about how much his grandmother had loved following the business, and he only wanted to do her proud.
