6. She Attended The Same Performing Arts College As Naomi Campbell
One look at Layla's film reel with WWE shows a woman who is comfortable playing any role, as we have already covered in the introduction. She is a confident entertainer, the likes of which are hard to come by. It is as easy for her to play the role of yapping villain as it is to portray the honorable, respected and admirable babyface heroine. That she can seamlessly move from one character to another without really ever looking out of place, and possesses the camera presence that she does, can probably be attributed to the fact that she attended performing arts college in London, something she told WWE.com in 2008. To really connect with your audience and to make an impression the way Layla has repeatedly, thus enjoying the longevity that she has, can only be attributed to the fact that she is not afraid to poke fun at herself, nor is she worried about being the coolest character on television. She can be goofy, funny and most certainly appears to be enjoying herself. It is that attitude, combined with her years of experience in front of crowds as a dancer that helped her fit right in in front of a WWE audience.
Erik Beaston is a freelance pro wrestling writer who likes long walks in the park, dandelions and has not quite figured out that this introduction is not for Match.com. He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
