2016 has been a strange, strange year, and when we look back at it the credibility and the interest in a feud between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler will surely rank high in many WTF lists. Their first one-on-one meeting on WWE TV came on my birthday (November 20th) in 2012, and since then they've gone at it 20 times in total. To put that in some perspective, Ziggler and Kofi Kingston have faced off 25 times, with their first coming three years earlier in November 2009.

Still, the most captivating and exciting story in WWE today revolves around The Miz, Dolph Ziggler and the Intercontinental Championship. This all came to a head last night in a Career vs. Championship match, and whilst I may have been wrong in predicting Ziggler was going to lose this truly was something approaching a perfect storm.

The Miz has been on fire all year and Ziggler is never better than when he is working against the odds. That this wasn't the main event was a travesty, as WWE had a chance to really make a statement when it comes to the prestige of the Intercontinental Championship. As it was, this was a very, very big tick.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
