The Miz's run as IC Champ got good towards the end, but up until the Talking Smack segment with Daniel Bryan it was more of a shrug than anything worth talking about. That segment awoke the title from the a lengthy slumber, and whilst many will complain about Miz losing the title to a veteran like Ziggler the crowd in attendance clearly disagreed.

The main talking point here is whether or not WWE is going to get behind Dolph Ziggler, once and for all. This isn't the first time he's won the Intercontinental Championship (it is the fifth), and it isn't the first time many have speculated that a big push could be in his future. Heck, we are just two years removed from him being the sole survivor in a Survivor Series match on which the fate of the entire company lay.

So is it a false dawn, or is Ziggler going to go on to become the superstar he could be? Only time will tell, but Ziggler winning the title here is absolutely the right decision. Now it might be my only story for secondary championships, but have him defend it every week on SmackDown Live in quality 10-15 minute matches against Heath Slater, Apollo Crews, Aiden English and others.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
