8 Things WWE Got Right At WWE No Mercy 2016

1. Welcome Back Luke Harper

This isn't a glowing thumbs up, but it is a thumbs up nonetheless. Luke Harper returning alongside Bray Wyatt isn't exactly original or exciting, as it seems to happen every year. Wyatt has been blunted to the point of irrelevancy, so unless he is about to go on a tear through SmackDown Live it seems like something of a step down for Harper to be his henchman.

Still, it is better than being fed to Braun Strowman on RAW. These are early days however, and whilst expecting the leopard that is WWE to change its spot might be wishful thinking, wrestling fans are known for their blind optimism. Maybe this will be the beginning of something special for the man who is WWE's best big man?

Because that is how good Luke Harper is. This should all lead to a one-on-one feud with Bray Wyatt that can somehow elevate both men, before Harper truly moves off on his own. He is too good to spend his career as a henchman, and it surely won't be long before the WWE Universe gets to see this in full.

So Luke Harper returning by removing his hood and allowing Bray Wyatt to defeat a babyface whose name begins with R is a thumbs down, but holy moly Luke Harper returning full stop is a big thumbs up!

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
