Okay, okay, okay. The first ever House of Horrors match wasn't something that WWE got entirely right last night, but not mentioning it seems a little weak too. It will be the most talked about match from the show, so it is only right to discuss it in some form here.

People are already slamming it as one of the worst things they have ever seen, but quite frankly this writer feels that the match and the concept aren't worthy of such strong words. The truth is that the House of Horrors match was fine for what it was. It was two wrestlers who have poor in-ring chemistry having a brawl in a house. The problem was booking the match in the first place.

Those expecting The Final Deletion were deluding themselves going in - Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton aren't Matt and Jeff Hardy after all. The short film was cheesy and ridiculous, but then it was always going to be. Those fans expecting this to be a psychological thriller straight out of the David Lynch oeuvre clearly haven't been watching WWE for very long.

This was a match that should never have happened, but the brawl the two men had in the house was fun while it lasted.

Bray Wyatt winning was the right call in the end, and Wyatt doing so thanks to Jinder Mahal's interference makes sense too. Jinder really needs to work on his belt shots though...

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
